Regional/UK Events

A series of events are currently being devised to take place throughout the United Kingdom which will bring the national agenda to a local level.  If you would like to discuss how your organisation could partner with the IT Forum Foundation in holding an event please click here.

What is happening?
The wider adoption of smarter working practices, bringing about a workplace revolution, will not happen overnight: it will be a gradual and considered process. The Work Wise UK initiative, which was launched in May 2006, is a dedicated  programme which is encouraging this change through a number of national and regional initiatives:

Work Wise Week 2008
Thursday 15th - Tuesday 21st May 2008

Building on the success of Work Wise Week 2007,  Work Wise Week 2008 will be launched on National Work from Home Day, Thursday 15th May. Media events during the Week will cover the many aspects of smarter working practices and unlike in previous years, will end with the Work Wise Summit 2008 on Wednesday 21st May, which will again be held at the QEII Conference in Westminster, London.  To see highlights of this years summit click here

Building on the success of other regional Work Wise initiatives, we are pleased to announce the launch of Work Wise South West on 26th March in Exeter. Hosted by the Met office, the launch will bring together progressive organisations to support the adoption of smarter working practices. Organisations, who wish to participate, should contact John Horne. john.horne@workwisesouthwest.org

Following on from the success of other regional Work Wise programmes, we are pleased to announce the launch of Work Wise South East on 16th April 2008. Supported by the South East of England Regional Development Agency (SEEDA), the South East England Regional Assembly, NHS South East Coast, NHS South Central, BT, Centrica and First Great Western, the launch will  set out the objectives of the Work Wise South East campaign and ignite discussion on the benefits of adopting smarter working practices.
Leaders from the private and public sectors will address invited guests and media on how and why we need to create a smarter working South East. The venue for the launch will be announced shortly.
