WALKING WORKS!
Living Streets' Walking Works campaign is pleased to support Commute Smart Week for the second year running. Walking Works aims to encourage more people to walk to and from work, and to walk more during their working day. Employees who took part in exercise initiatives run by their workplace reported that they enjoyed their work more, had increased concentration and mental alertness, as well as better rapport with colleagues. By promoting walking, employers can reduce absenteeism, save money and increase retention rates.
We recognise that in the winter months, it's often difficult for employers to encourage and promote walking, which is why we've produced some top tips for workplaces and employees to help them get started during this winter. We're also providing free seasonal themed posters and pledge cards to employers who order through our website. |
